North Ridgeville High School has been honored with the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce Momentum Award for its remarkable progress in growth and achievement during the 2022-2023 academic year. The Momentum Award, as described by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, is bestowed upon districts and buildings that exhibit improvement in achievement while maintaining growth.
Specifically, it recognizes those districts and buildings that have enhanced their performance index by three or more points from the previous year’s report card and have achieved a value-added progress rating of four or more stars.
Out of the 3,599 schools across 611 districts in Ohio, only 310 buildings, approximately eight percent of schools in the state, received this prestigious award. Joseph Mueller, the Principal of North Ridgeville High School, expresses pride in the school’s journey over the past two years, emphasizing the creation of a supportive culture for students.
He credits this supportive environment for the growth and achievement evident in the improved test scores and state report cards. Mueller expresses elation at the recognition of their hard work at the state level.
The award not only highlights the district’s dedication to providing quality education but also underscores its commitment to empowering students. Superintendent Roxann Ramsey-Casero emphasizes the district’s focus on enabling students to shape their futures by offering diverse educational pathways.
She stresses that every student is provided with opportunities to pursue their interests and realize their potential. Ramsey-Casero sees the recognition as a testament to the unwavering commitment of the school administration and staff to fostering student success.
