Violent Altercation Erupts Between Woman and LADOT Bus Driver Over Fare Dispute

A disturbing incident unfolded in South Los Angeles as a woman launched a violent attack on a Los Angeles city bus driver following a dispute over fare payment.

According to LAPD, the altercation occurred around 12:40 p.m. on Sunday near Central Avenue and Jefferson Boulevard. Eyewitnesses captured footage of the harrowing encounter, showing the woman aggressively assaulting the bus driver after purportedly attempting to board the LADOT bus without paying the fare.

In the video, the bus driver can be seen fending off the attack, kicking the woman and repeatedly shouting “Get off me!” as he struggled to repel her advances. Despite the driver’s efforts, the woman persisted in her assault, grabbing, pulling, and punching him.

Police swiftly intervened and apprehended the woman, who was subsequently taken into custody on a battery investigation. Thankfully, the bus driver sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene before being released without requiring hospitalization.

The incident underscores the challenges faced by public transportation workers and highlights the importance of ensuring their safety while on duty.
