Trump Targets California’s Cost of Living in Upcoming Coachella Rally

Former President Donald Trump is gearing up for a campaign rally in California this Saturday, taking place at Calhoun Ranch near Coachella. In his rally announcement, Trump criticized Vice President Kamala Harris, blaming her for rising grocery and housing costs, and pointed fingers at California Governor Gavin Newsom for high gas prices, declaring, The notorious ‘California Dream’ has turned into a nightmare for everyday Americans.

However, the announcement has drawn criticism from Coachella’s mayor, Steven Hernandez. In a Facebook post, he expressed that the community welcomed Senator Bernie Sanders during the 2020 primaries but views Trump’s visit unfavorably. Hernandez condemned Trump’s previous remarks about immigrants, women, and the LGBTQ community, asserting that such views do not reflect the values of Coachella residents. He emphasized that Trump was not invited by the community, stating, He ain’t like us.

Doors for the rally will open at 1 p.m., with Trump expected to speak at 5 p.m. Additional details about speakers have yet to be announced.
