Tragic Discovery: Body Recovered After Boating Accident near Sealy’s Boat Landing

A person lost their life following what officials describe as a boating incident.

On Friday at 2:13 p.m., game wardens from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources responded to reports of a potential drowning on Lake Seminole near Sealy’s Boat Landing.

As per the investigation, the individual operating the boat was heading back to the boat landing when they veered beyond the designated channel markers, colliding with a stump. The impact resulted in a passenger being thrown from the boat.

The driver informed authorities that despite attempting to retrieve the victim back onto the boat, their efforts were unsuccessful.

Teams from the Se2:13 p.m.County Sheriff’s Office and Grady/Decatur Fire Rescue initiated a search for the victim. On Saturday at 12:25 p.m., officials discovered the individual’s body submerged in 14 feet of water.

The identity of the victim remains undisclosed, and no additional details have been disclosed at this time.
