Democratic Rep. Tom Suozzi of New York recently urged Americans to calm down amid concerns over President-elect Trump’s Cabinet picks.
In an interview with CNN, Suozzi advised people to focus on the nominees’ backgrounds and allow the Senate’s vetting process to play out.
While some of Trump’s choices, like Linda McMahon for Education Secretary and Pete Hegseth for Defense Secretary, have raised eyebrows due to their backgrounds or allegations, Suozzi suggested that concerns should be placed in perspective.
Suozzi emphasized the importance of balancing concerns about appointments with the need to address more pressing issues.
He also addressed the broader post-election narrative, urging Democrats to shift their focus from the question of how people voted for Trump to understanding why they voted for him.
According to Suozzi, this shift is essential for better grasping the political dynamics that led to Republican victories.
