Four individuals have been apprehended, while authorities are actively pursuing two more suspects, believed to be part of a burglary ring operating across Pennsylvania and New Jersey since 2007.
The burglaries targeted residences in Lehigh, Berks, and Northampton counties in Pennsylvania, as well as at least one home in New Jersey, resulting in the theft of cash, firearms, jewelry, electronics, and other valuable items.
The investigation into these burglaries commenced in June 2019, focusing on various locations across Lehigh County, Warren Township in New Jersey, and areas in Berks and Northampton counties.
Authorities noted consistent patterns in the burglaries, with the perpetrators gaining entry through forced entry points or unsecured access, often while residents were present.
Among the stolen items were cash, more than 37 firearms, jewelry, coins, financial documents, and electronics. Despite surveillance footage capturing the burglars, their identities remained concealed due to their consistent use of masks and gloves. Additionally, the burglars took precautions by parking their vehicles several blocks away from the targeted residences.
The earliest documented burglary dates back to January 28, 2007, with the most recent incident occurring in 2024. DNA evidence recovered from a safe during a burglary in 2022 played a crucial role in identifying the suspects. Furthermore, investigators utilized license plate records and cellphone data to advance their inquiries.
A collaborative effort involving various law enforcement agencies, including the Pennsylvania State Police, local township police departments, U.S. Marshals, ATF, and district attorney offices from Northampton and Berks, led to the identification and charges against six individuals.
Roger Juan Tirado, Jonathan Mendez, Nydia Tirado, Agapito Pagan-Liciaga, William Tirado-Liciaga, and Jose Luis Torres. All suspects are residents of Allentown, Pennsylvania, except for Torres, who resides in Carnegie, Pennsylvania.
