Shohei Ohtani Hits 54th Home Run, Breaks Ichiro’s Stolen Base Record in Dodgers Win

Shohei Ohtani continues to dazzle, achieving yet another historic milestone during the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 11-4 victory over the Colorado Rockies.

Ohtani blasted his 54th home run of the season and broke Ichiro Suzuki’s single-season record for stolen bases by a Japanese-born player, swiping his 57th bag.

Ohtani finished 4-for-5 with four RBIs, bringing his batting average to .309 and further solidifying his pursuit of a Triple Crown, as he leads the National League in both homers and RBIs.

Ohtani’s three-run shot came in the sixth inning, a towering blast into Coors Field’s second deck off Rockies reliever Anthony Molina, leaving the crowd in awe. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts praised Ohtani’s performance, calling it a show, while Rockies manager Bud Black marveled at his strength and talent.

In addition to his power, Ohtani’s speed has been a game-changer. His stolen base streak, now at 34 consecutive steals, is the second-longest in Dodgers’ history.

As his remarkable season unfolds, Ohtani continues to cement his place among baseball’s elite.
