Selena Fletcher, founder of Financial Freedom Affiliated LLC in Monroe, Louisiana, is empowering local communities through financial literacy. Since 2019, Fletcher has been a dedicated advocate for promoting financial education, particularly in underserved areas. Growing up in Lake Providence, LA, without much financial knowledge in her family, Fletcher’s personal journey has driven her mission to equip others with the tools to achieve financial stability.
Through workshops, community events, and one-on-one coaching, Fletcher provides resources like homebuyer classes, tax preparation workshops, and guidance on credit management. Her colleague, Raffael Smith, lauds her commitment to helping others. “She always is looking to help somebody,” he said.
Fletcher emphasizes practical steps to financial success, such as using credit-building loans and credit cards and setting goals. In 2024, she partnered with Monroe city officials to host a Financial Literacy Summit, which focused on budgeting, planning, and other key financial skills. Looking ahead to 2025, Fletcher plans to launch a new initiative that will offer business funding to small businesses in Monroe, providing an alternative to traditional financing options.
