A Richmond man, Jayquan Jermaine Harris, was sentenced to four years in prison for trafficking fentanyl and cocaine. The sentencing comes shortly after he completed a previous prison term.
On September 24, 2025, Harris led Virginia State Police on a dangerous 13-mile high-speed chase after running a red light.
During the chase, Harris reached speeds up to 65 mph in residential areas and over 100 mph on Interstate 95 North, eventually crashing into a median.
After the crash, police discovered a bag containing various narcotics, including cocaine and fentanyl, inside Harris’ vehicle.
This arrest occurred just 19 days after Harris’ release from a prior prison sentence, during which he was convicted of drug possession with intent to distribute.
