Portage Public Schools Remain Closed as Tornado Damage Repairs Continue

Portage Public Schools in Michigan will continue to be closed for the third day in a row, following the impact of severe storms and an EF-2 tornado that hit the area on Tuesday, May 7, according to school officials.

Due to ongoing repair efforts to restore services to various school buildings, including Curious Kids and Prime Time, classes will not be held on Friday, May 10. The closure allows crews to efficiently carry out their restoration work.

The decision to keep schools closed highlights the dedication to prioritising the safety and well-being of students and staff during the essential repairs following the destructive tornado.
