In Philadelphia, Keith Gibson, already serving multiple life sentences for two murders in Delaware, faced additional murder charges during a preliminary hearing.
Authorities presented evidence linking him to the deaths of four more individuals, including his own mother, Christine Gibson.
Judge Karen Simmons reprimanded Gibson for multiple outbursts and held him in contempt, continuing the hearing without him.
Prosecutors detailed Gibson’s killing spree, which spanned both Pennsylvania and Delaware, including the murders of two shop owners in Germantown and Dunkin’ Donuts employee Christine Lugo.
Ballistic evidence and a tip from a friend of Gibson’s strengthened the case against him. Prosecutor Joanne Pescatore emphasized the importance of justice for each victim, regardless of Gibson’s existing life sentences.
