New York Judge to Rule on Donald Trump’s Hush Money Conviction in November 2024

A New York judge is set to decide on November 12, 2024, whether to overturn former President Donald Trump’s conviction in his hush money case, following a U.S. Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity.

Trump was convicted in May 2024 of falsifying business records related to a $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels in 2016, which Trump claimed was intended to protect his family rather than influence the election.

Trump’s legal team argued that the Supreme Court’s ruling on presidential immunity meant certain evidence used in his trial should not have been considered.

Prosecutors maintain the evidence was crucial to the case. The ruling could also determine whether Trump will be sentenced as scheduled on November 26, 2024.
