New Jersey Faces Worst Flu Season in 15 Years: Rising Cases, Hospitalizations, and Deaths

New Jersey is experiencing one of its worst flu seasons in 15 years, with a significant rise in cases, hospitalizations, and deaths since the start of the new year.

The state is among the hardest-hit in the U.S., with roughly 20 flu-related deaths each week. The CDC reports 29 million flu cases nationwide, leading to 370,000 hospitalizations and 16,000 deaths, including 68 children.

Experts note that low immunity among children and a possible drop in vaccine effectiveness may be contributing factors.

Doctors advise high-risk individuals, such as the elderly, to get vaccinated, as flu season is expected to continue through March.
