Nevada Governor Activates National Guard for Election Day Safety Precautions

Governor Joe Lombardo has activated 60 members of the National Guard to be on standby in Carson City and Las Vegas as a precautionary measure for Election Day.

Nevada National Guard Captain Emerson Marcus emphasized that this decision reflects a commitment to ensuring the safety of residents, despite no known threats of violence.

Unlike previous missions, such as New Year’s Eve on the Las Vegas Strip, the National Guard will not have an active presence at voting locations.

Instead, guard members will be stationed at armories, ready to respond if needed.

Governor Lombardo, drawing on his experience as a first responder, highlighted the importance of being prepared for any potential emergencies.
