A Nebraska nurse, Andrea Meisinger from Weeping Water, has had her licenses revoked for at least two years due to alleged fraud involving her business, AR Virtual Health.
The business advertised weight-loss medications like Tirzepatide and Semaglutide through social media.
According to the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office, Meisinger prescribed medications to patients while her licenses were suspended and authorized prescriptions in states where she didn’t have the necessary licenses.
Meisinger, an advanced practice registered nurse, agreed to a settlement where she neither admitted nor denied the allegations but accepted the decision made by Nebraska’s chief medical officer, Dr. Timothy Tesmer.
This decision resulted in the revocation of her nursing licenses for a minimum of two years, with the possibility of reinstatement later, depending on approval from the state nursing board. She was also fined $16,000 and previously paid a $3,000 penalty after being put on probation in an earlier case.
The Attorney General’s Office filed a petition in November 2024 seeking further disciplinary actions, claiming that Meisinger had been practicing beyond her legal scope, including obtaining payments under false pretenses.
This follows earlier legal actions, such as one filed in May, accusing Meisinger of trying to sell Tirzepatide without establishing a legitimate patient-provider relationship.
