Minnesota Dairy Farm Settles Wage Violations for $250,000 Amid Worker Exploitation Claims

A dairy farm in central Minnesota will pay $250,000 to resolve allegations made by Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, claiming that the farm unlawfully withheld wages from its workers and provided inadequate living conditions for employees, many of whom are Hispanic immigrants.

The settlement, filed in Stearns County District Court on Thursday, mandates that Evergreen Acres Dairy in Paynesville will be monitored by Ellison’s office for three years. The farm could face additional penalties if it fails to comply with labor and housing laws in the future.

Additionally, the dairy must ensure that workers have access to legal services and display written notices regarding wage deductions in both English and Spanish.
