Illinois State Police Seize 1,100 Pounds of Cocaine Worth $40 Million in Major Drug Bust

Illinois State Police ISP found more than 1,100 pounds of cocaine in a truck on Friday in western Illinois.

Around 2:10 p.m., an ISP officer stopped a Volvo semi-truck on Interstate 80 in Henry County. The officer discovered the cocaine hidden inside. The drugs were worth over $40 million.

The two men in the truck, Vanshpreet Singh, 27, and Manpreet Singh, 36, were arrested.

They face charges for possessing cocaine, planning to distribute it, and drug trafficking. Both were taken to jail and will face a court hearing soon.

ISP Director Brandan F. Kelly praised the department’s efforts to stop drug trafficking and keep dangerous drugs out of communities. The Drug Enforcement Administration DEA helped with the investigation.
