Identification of Victim in Tragic Crash

Bullhead City Police have identified the man who lost his life in a recent motorcycle accident. Michael John Vasconcellos, 60, of Bullhead City, was fatally struck from behind while waiting at a stoplight on Nov. 18.

The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 95 and Corwin Road. Vasconcellos was pronounced dead at the scene.

The release of Vasconcellos’ name was initially withheld until his next of kin could be notified. The Bullhead City Police Department is currently investigating the fatal crash. Emily Fromelt, the department’s public information officer, stated that the case will be sent to the Mohave County Attorney’s Office for a review of potential charges.

According to earlier reports from the police, Vasconcellos’ motorcycle was struck from behind by a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse, leading to a chain reaction that pushed his bike into another vehicle stopped at the traffic light on northbound Highway 95 at Corwin Road. The collision resulted in the motorcycle colliding with the rear of a Ford F-150 pickup truck.
