Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador attended a gala in Florida celebrating President-elect Donald Trump’s victory.
The event, held at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, was a star-studded affair with several conservative figures in attendance, including House Speaker Mike Johnson, Argentina’s President Javier Milei, and nominees for Trump’s cabinet.
Among the cabinet picks were North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum as interior secretary, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for health and human services, former Rep. Matt Gaetz as attorney general, and Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy for positions in a new Department of Government Efficiency. These appointments will require Senate confirmation.
The America First Policy Institute, which hosted the event, is a Republican think tank with strong ties to Trump. Labrador posted photos from the event on X, including one with Milei, the Argentine president fighting socialism and economic challenges in his country. Labrador expressed support for Milei’s efforts.
Labrador’s spokesperson did not comment on his Florida trip. While Labrador was initially critical of Trump during the 2016 Republican primary, he later supported Trump’s campaigns. However, Trump did not endorse Labrador in his 2018 race for Idaho governor.
In October, Labrador reaffirmed his loyalty to Trump, posting a Halloween photo of himself in a trash bag and Trump’s Make America Great Again hat.
