Gulf Port Man Detained in DeFuniak Springs After Stolen Bronco Found by Police

DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, Fla. WJHG/WECP — A traffic stop led to the arrest of a Mississippi man after authorities received a FLOCK alert on a stolen vehicle. The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported that the alert was triggered for a 2024 Red Ford Bronco traveling on 331 South, just south of DeFuniak Springs city limits.

DeFuniak Springs Police, responding to the FLOCK alert, located the stolen vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at a nearby hotel. The driver, identified as 43-year-old Will Russel May of Gulf Port, Mississippi, initially claimed that the vehicle’s owner had given him permission to use it and even provided a credit card to book his hotel room.

However, further investigation revealed that the Ford Bronco had indeed been reported stolen. May was arrested and transported to the Walton County Jail, where he faces charges related to the stolen vehicle.

This incident highlights the effectiveness of FLOCK camera systems in assisting law enforcement in tracking and recovering stolen property.
