Florida Carjacking Update: Third Person of Interest in Custody

Seminole County Sheriff’s Office has made significant progress in the investigation of the deadly carjacking incident involving Katherine Altagracia Guerrero De Aguasvivas. Here’s an update on the case:

Kevin Ocasio Justiniano, 28, has been arrested in Puerto Rico by U.S. Marshals for unrelated drug trafficking and weapons charges. He is believed to be the driver of the green Acura seen in the viral video of the armed carjacking in Winter Springs on April 11.

Justiniano, along with another person of interest, Jordanish Torres-Garcia, 28, who is already in custody, is expected to be charged with carjacking resulting in a death.

Giovany Joel Crespo Hernandez, 27, the third person of interest, turned himself in at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility in Seminole County late Monday night. Hernandez was the last person Aguasvivas spoke to via Facetime before her death.

While he has not been charged in connection with the carjacking/homicide, he remains incarcerated on charges of fentanyl trafficking and marijuana with intent to sell.

Sheriff Dennis Lemma stated, “This case is about drugs and money. We believe the most dangerous people connected with this case are now off our streets.” Aguasvivas’ brother and husband, however, are no longer cooperating with detectives, with Lemma noting that the husband is not cooperating at all and the brother is providing false information.

The investigation into this tragic event is ongoing, with law enforcement agencies working diligently to bring justice to Aguasvivas and her family.
