Connecticut Highway Tragedy: 41-Year-Old Suniel Michael Ross Identified as Fatal Crash Victim

Authorities have identified the man who tragically died in a highway incident in Connecticut. The victim, 41-year-old Suniel Michael Ross from Woonsocket, Rhode Island, was involved in a fatal collision on I-95 northbound near exit 43, early Wednesday morning.

According to State Police, Ross ran across three lanes of traffic from the southbound side, crossed into the center median, and then into the left lane of the northbound side.

A Connecticut man driving in the left lane had to stop abruptly to avoid hitting another vehicle, and in doing so, swerved into the center lane, colliding with Ross.

Ross was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision was not injured. The crash closed I-95 North for several hours while authorities investigated the incident.

Ross had a history of service, having retired from the Navy in December 2020 after 17 years of service. He previously worked with YouthBuild Providence and has lived in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, and Brooklyn, New York. He leaves behind a son, as well as numerous friends and family members.
