Georgia: A Significant Center
The state of Georgia, especially Atlanta, stands out as a major hub for human trafficking in the United States. Approximately four out of every 100,000 people in the state become victims of human trafficking, ranking Georgia as the 7th highest in the country, as per the World Population Review.
Between 2003 and 2007 and again in 2018, Atlanta experienced the highest sex trade activity. In 2023, Atlanta ranked second only to Washington, D.C. in human trafficking cases.
