Brown University Health Reinstates Mask Mandate in Rhode Island Amid Rising Respiratory Virus Cases

PROVIDENCE, R.I. WLNE – In response to increasing community transmission rates of respiratory viruses, Brown University Health is reinstating mask requirements starting Wednesday.

Level 2 surgical masks will be mandatory for patients, visitors, and staff during patient care to ensure the safety of everyone in the facility.

Visitors will be provided with masks upon arrival at any hospital or clinic in Rhode Island.

The mask mandate applies only to locations within Rhode Island, with Massachusetts facilities continuing to adhere to state-specific guidelines.
