Brad Batt Pledges to Reform Ballad Health and Combat Child Poverty in Tennessee

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. WJHL— Democratic candidate Brad Batt held a rally Wednesday to discuss his main goals if elected to the Tennessee House.

Batt, a small business owner, is challenging Republican Tim Hicks for the seat in House District 6, which covers part of Washington County.

Batt’s priorities include breaking up Ballad Health, protecting public schools, and ending child poverty in Tennessee.

The key right now is to find people in Washington County who are tired of the current situation, Batt said. We’re not just looking for Democrats, but also Republicans, independents, and anyone who feels ignored. My main goal is to amplify their voices because Nashville isn’t listening.

Batt criticized the Republican supermajority in the General Assembly, calling them hostile to the constituents in Tennessee.

The voter registration deadline is Oct. 7, with early voting starting on Oct. 16 and Election Day on Nov. 5.
