U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. R-LA, announced on October 16 that $22.6 million will be allocated to improve connectivity between Interstate 49 and the future Interstate 69 corridor project. This funding will be used to upgrade and extend Stonewall-Frierson Road.
“Having reliable roads to connect our ports to the rest of the state is essential for doing business,” Dr. Cassidy stated.
He emphasized that the Caddo-Bossier I-69 connector will enhance North Louisiana’s appeal to businesses, fostering economic growth for the region well into the future.
The funds are part of a grant from the U.S. Transportation Department’s INFRA program.
Senator Cassidy noted that the funding increase made possible by his Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act is critical in supporting such essential infrastructure projects.
